AKl Race Time Lap
The time and lap calculator is here to help predict your finish time. It gives you an idea of whether you will finish before any cut-off times and helps ensure everyone has a great day, knowing what to expect and what’s ahead.
If you’ve been hunting for something bigger than an Olympic but not quite a full Half, this one hits the sweet spot. Mission Bay means business — the moment you’re in the water, it’s go-time.
The updated Tāmaki Drive route is built for speed: long straights, crisp corners, smooth tarmac, and a constant flow of athletes pushing the pace. Settle in early, find your rhythm, and let the course pull you along.
And the atmosphere? Electric. You’ll feel the energy before you even spot the spectators — cafés buzzing, locals cheering, and enough noise to lift your heart rate before you hit the first turn.
Drafting? Absolutely not. Race clean, race fair, and earn your result the honest way.
Date: Saturday 9th May 2026
Location: Selwyn Reserve, Mission Bay
Expected Air Temperature: 17 – 22 °C
Expected Water Temperature: 17 – 18 °C
Distances:
Swim – 2 km (1 long lap + 3 Short Laps)
Bike – 80 km (5 laps of a 16km course)
Run – 18 km (4 laps of a 4.5km course)
This one bridges the gap between the Olympic and the Half — and it’s right here in your backyard.
With short, spectator-packed laps, you’ll pass your supporters more often and hit double the aid stations — the perfect mix of speed and support.
When you cross that finish line, don’t rush off. Grab a coffee, soak up the vibe, and celebrate among Auckland’s endurance legends.
Whether you’re a first-timer chasing confidence or a racer hunting a PB, Mission Bay has one mission: Speed. Pure and simple.

Run — cut-off 2:30 pm
Bike course closes at 11:30 am, and the run cut-off is 2:30 am (though you can still finish under your own steam if you’re determined to get it done — we’ll keep the clock running a little past “pack-down o’clock,” just without marshals).
Live all day on race day — so your friends and family can track exactly how long you really spent in transition. The link will go live on the website and be posted to Facebook on race morning.
