AKl Race Time Lap
The time and lap calculator is here to help predict your finish time. It gives you an idea of whether you will finish before any cut-off times and helps ensure everyone has a great day, knowing what to expect and what’s ahead.
The AKL50 is basically your classic Olympic-distance triathlon — or very close to it — making it the perfect way to test your skills without any stress. It’s built on safe, well-managed courses, starting with a tight swim layout that keeps you close to shore so your supporters can cheer you on at every turn.
The bike leg features a smooth, flowing 16 km loop, giving you space, safety, and a course that feels fast without feeling risky. Then it’s onto a short, sharp run course packed with opportunities for water and nutrition, while your supporters snap photos and yell encouragement.
It’s familiar… but with upgrades. The same distance feel — delivered in a smarter, safer, more exciting way.
Find your rev-limiter early… then hang on tight.
The Tāmaki Drive course keeps it smooth, fast, and flowing — tight turns, quick legs, and a buzz of riders all around you. It’s full throttle from start to finish.
Mission Bay is Auckland’s most spectator-friendly triathlon course — lined with cafés, flat whites, and locals losing their voices cheering you on.
No drafting allowed — ride clean, race fair, and earn every second the honest way.

The Auckland 50 bridges the gap between the Olympic and the Half — and it’s right here in your backyard.
With short, spectator-packed laps, you’ll pass your supporters more often and hit double the aid stations — the perfect mix of speed and support.
When you cross that finish line, don’t rush off.
Grab a coffee, soak up the vibe, and celebrate among Auckland’s endurance legends.
Whether you’re a first-timer chasing confidence or a racer hunting a PB, Mission Bay has one mission:
You’ll get:
Plus, all the race-day essentials that make everything run like clockwork:
You focus on the race — we’ll take care of everything else.
We’ve got a stack of epic spot prizes up for grabs — from wetsuits to gear bundles and surprise giveaways!
Prizegiving kicks off at 2:30 pm, so grab a long lunch at one of the local cafés, refuel, relax, and then come back to soak up the atmosphere. It’s always a great way to wrap up the day — celebrating the legends who raced and maybe walking away with something special yourself.
Swim — 1 hour (average ≈ 3:00 per 100 m)
Bike — 3 hours 30 minutes (average ≈ 23 km/h)
Run — cut-off 2:30 pm
It might seem tight — but never fear! This event has been running for years, and the timing is generous, even if you’re pacing yourself.
Bike course closes at 10:30 am, and the run cut-off is 11:30 am (though you can still finish under your own steam if you’re determined to get it done — we’ll keep the clock running a little past “pack-down o’clock,” just without marshals).
Live all day on race day — so your friends and family can track exactly how long you really spent in transition. The link will go live on the website and be posted to Facebook on race morning.
Only the best — thanks to our mates at Swim Shop, every athlete scores one of the best silicone swim caps in triathlon with their entry.
A couple of quick reminders:
• Make sure your race number is clearly displayed on your helmet — it helps us identify you on the bike if we need to.
• And don’t forget to have your run number visible on the run. If you’re not keen on punching safety-pin holes through your trisuit, grab yourself a race belt—easy, clean, and way less stress on race morning.
