DUATHLON 49

40KM BIKE - 9KM RUN
9TH MAY 2026

DUATHLON 49 — ALL ENGINE, NO WATER REQUIRED

If swimming isn’t your thing — or you just prefer keeping your heart rate high and your hair dry — the Duathlon 49 is built exactly for you. Two disciplines, one fierce test of fitness, and zero excuses.

This event is all about speed, strength, and smooth transitions. You’ll hit the bike straight out of the gate, settle into your rhythm, and then switch gears (literally and figuratively) for a run that rewards strong legs and smart pacing.

But don’t think this one’s just for the “no-swim crew.” Duathlons are legendary for sharpening race skills — especially for athletes chasing long-distance goals or anyone wanting to dial in that bike-to-run combo.

Where triathlons split athletes early in the water, the Duathlon 49 keeps everyone together from the start. Your real move happens on the run — that’s where you separate yourself, surge past rivals, and hit the finish with nothing left in the tank.

You’ll get plenty of help along the way too, with well-placed aid stations on each run loop to keep you fuelled and firing.

Non-drafting rules apply — clean racing, honest riding, and results you can be proud of.

Distances:

  • Bike: 40 km - ( 1 short lap + 2 long laps of 16km)
  • Run: 9 km - ( 2 laps of a 4.5km course)

Short, sharp, and guaranteed to light up your legs — that’s the Duathlon 49.

  • Personalised race number & name

Plus, all the race-day essentials that make everything run like clockwork:

  • Professional timing
  • Aid stations fully stocked with goodies
  • On-site medical support
  • Closed roads and strict no-drafting racing

You focus on the race — we’ll take care of everything else.

We’ve got a stack of epic spot prizes up for grabs — from wetsuits to gear bundles and surprise giveaways!

Prizegiving kicks off at 2:30 pm, so grab a long lunch at one of the local cafés, refuel, relax, and then come back to soak up the atmosphere. It’s always a great way to wrap up the day — celebrating the legends who raced and maybe walking away with something special yourself.

Bike — 3 hours 30 minutes (average ≈ 23 km/h) - Off the road by 11.30pm

Run — cut-off 2:30 pm

Bike course closes at 10:30 am, and the run cut-off is 11:30 am (though you can still finish under your own steam if you’re determined to get it done — we’ll keep the clock running a little past “pack-down o’clock,” just without marshals).

Live all day on race day — so your friends and family can track exactly how long youreallyspent in transition. The link will go live on the website and be posted to Facebook on race morning.
